This week I chose to focus on the gloomier and rainier days
of spring. This first set of pictures I chose was of plants in the rain. I was
just really drawn to flowers and plants covered in raindrops. I just think it’s
truly beautiful and reminds me of home in Oregon. The first picture I took was
a big pink flower bush right outside our side lawn. It looks really cool after
it rains and by boosting the color and definition I really tried to amplify
what I was seeing, bright colors are often hard to amplify. The second picture I took was another
bush outside my side lawn. I really like these plants there completely water
proof so if you pour water on it at all they just turn straight into droplets.
I also really like the shape of the leaves as well as the grooves. The aerial
view over the plants I thought gave a really cool textured look to the
overlaying leaves I used iPhoto just to enhance that look. The last picture I
took was another plant on the outside of my side lawn. The bush has sparse tiny
little light indigo flowers in it and I wanted to show that they were kind of alone
with zooming out so you can see the surrounding green plants. Again I tried to
enhance the indigo flower’s color.
